Unsafe Conditions Near Stations Due to Council Negligence
Last Monday the 5th, I had a serious fall near Stonebridge Park station because the ground was covered in ice. There was no salt or grit on the pavement at all, even though the icy conditions were very obvious and dangerous.
This is a busy area used by many residents every day, especially around the station. The council clearly failed to take proper care of public safety. Because of this lack of maintenance, I was injured.
I also heard that on the same day, around nine people fell near Wembley Park station due to the same icy conditions. This shows it was not an isolated incident, but a wider failure by the council to prepare and respond.
Residents pay council tax and expect basic safety measures, especially during winter weather. Unfortunately, this incident shows a serious lack of care and responsibility towards residents.
This situation is unacceptable, and I hope the council takes this seriously before more people are hurt.
