I am a long-term resident of Moray Avenue, Hayes, where I have lived for the past thirteen years. I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the growing number of violent and disruptive incidents that have taken place on this street.
On 31st August 2025 at 19:45 , I personally witnessed a serious altercation involving a group of men, believed to be residing at 68 Moray Avenue. The situation escalated into a knife incident. The police were called and arrived approximately ten minutes later, arresting some of those involved. CCTV footage of the event was handed over to the authorities.
As per information shared within the community, several homeowners on the street appear to have accommodated an unusually high number of tenants for rental purposes. Many of these individuals are believed to be unauthorised occupants or undocumented immigrants, which raises further concerns about overcrowding and accountability.
Fights and tensions between rival gangs have increasingly terrorised our street, which was once a calm and quiet area when I purchased my property thirteen years ago. These incidents are creating a climate of fear and insecurity for long-term residents.
With children growing up on this street, including my own two, I am deeply concerned and extremely disturbed by these recurring events. Such violence poses a direct threat to the safety and wellbeing of families and is particularly damaging to the younger residents, who are being exposed to danger and instability.
I urge the relevant authorities to take immediate and effective measures to restore safety and order on Moray Avenue, Hayes and to ensure that the peace of this community is preserved.
